But the cost isn't cheap at $175 or $150 with a license which isn't clear. But I really don't mind supporting ACDsee development by updating. So, I can stay as-is and just use Ultimate 9. However, it does not mention anywhere that it is a lifetime license - so that makes a question, how long is the license good for? Plus I get additional software (but which I don't really need). Then if I look at the Home Pack 2020 it allows me to use it on three devices yet only costs $150. As I need to use it on a PC and also a laptop (two devices) then it seems that I have to buy an additional ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2020 License Key costing $75, so a total outlay of $175. For this, I apparently get a lifetime license for one instance. If I went for Photo Studio Ultimate 2020 it will cost me $100, I am not offered an upgrade price saving even though I have Ultimate Pack 9 bought in 2016. But after all, I am using software from 2016 and even if the new features don't excite me, I am sure that there must be speed improvements, stability, etc. Probably in my case, upgrading doesn't bring too much. ACDSee Ultimate Pack includes: ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate, Gemstone Photo Editor, LUXEA Pro Video Editor, Video Converter Pro, and ACDSee Photo Studio for. It provides a digital asset management module that makes finding, sorting, and sharing images a breeze. There maybe 20-50 things that I have missed. ACDSee Photo Studio Home is designed for amateur photographers who want to organize their images in a meaningful way so they can be found, shared, and edited with the minimum of fuss. Scroll through your images, zoom in and out, and print with ease. Is there frequency separation in v9? Have you noticed the change in use of OpenCL (the GPU utilization is better). ACDSee Free is a blazing fast image viewer for your PC that shows off your photos, fast. For instance, if you only do a small bit of reorganizing, straightening/cropping, and quick edits there is probably no reason to change.ĭoes v9 have elective editing in both Edit and Develop modes for almost all of the basic parameters, how are the layer in Edit mode different, there are GUI interface updates, too What about LightEq, COlor EQ and pixel targeting. If you don't see many differences than your usage model may not need the update. Minimally, you get the advantage of the money that bought the development resources that many users have put into the tool over the years. If would certainly be a good deal if ACD is offering discounted upgrades, to move from v9 to v 2019. ACDSee Actions created in Photo Editor 10 are backwards compatible with Pro 9/10 and Ultimate 9/10. But I certainly remember being generally satisfied on the differences as I paid for upgrades every year. But it is very difficult to remember the timeline of what happened where and when. Subsequent times will be much faster because previously scanned items can be fetched from the database.Ģ) Is the removable drive excluded from the DB in v9/v10? Excluded items are indicated with a "do not enter" icon.ģ) When comparing v9 vs v10, are conditions the same? For example, in v10, do you have a smaller thumbnail size, do you have items in the file list selected, or do you have the Properties pane shown rather than the Organize pane, etc.I am certain there were many differences between V9 and 10, v10 and v2018, and v2018 and v2019. The first time, ACDSee needs to decode the files and add records to the database, which takes time. To confirm:ġ) Had you previously scanned those items in v9? and are you scanning them for the first time in v10? Assuming the removable drive is not excluded from the databse, it's expected that the first time will be slower than subsequent times. Am on a 32GB M1 Max macbook pro. We're unable to reproduce this issue. V10 started on one of them last night, and was at 50% this morning, and scrolling through the thumbnails in V9 (even while populating) is smooth and fast, where in V10 it is slow and jerky. V9 opens and populates the thumbnails on them in minutes. Have a couple of external SSD's with a very large number of images/photos. Sadly it seems MUCH slower in many respects than Version 9.
